What Are Earthworks?
Earthworks is an operational process often used at the start of a construction project that involves engineering works that excavate, transport and place materials into the earth’s structure to help lay the foundation for larger construction work. It is vitally important to any construction and it lays the foundation of any building work.
The Methods of Bulk Excavation Earthworks Process
There are two different methods of bulk excavation in earthworks:
- An area of land is excavated which sees the removal of soil and rock so that foundations can be laid before building works
- Adding soil and rock to an area of land so that building works can begin before a construction project
Earthworks is any form of work carried out that involves extracting or excavating elements from the earth for construction purposes, whether that be removing or adding earth elements before building works.
