On 10th May, 2019 Thompsons of Prudhoe sponsored a ProAM golf tournament at Prudhoe Golf Club in aid of raising funds for the Women’s Cancer Detections Society (WCDS) based at the QE hospital in Gateshead. Over the course of the day the 40 teams comprising of 3 amateur golfers and 1 Professional competed culminating in “Team Ferrie” being crowned the winning team and Liam O’Neil crowned the winning Professional from Leeds Golf Centre with an amazing course record of 9 under par.
The whole day was fantastic, the course was in great condition, the sun was shining and fantastic hospitality and catering from the club. Many businesses donated raffle prizes and sponsored holes resulting in an incredible total of £5100 raised for the charity as a result. Thank you to all businesses who took part, made a donations or sponsored a hole in aid of a worthwhile local charity.
