Weighbridge Clerk

We’re looking for a WEIGHBRIDGE CLERK TO JOIN OUR TEAM. This role will be based at our ANICK GRANGE quarry, HEXHAM.

The Role

  • To be responsible for the correct and efficient operation of the weighing of vehicles both in and out of the quarry using the weighbridge systems and supporting software – assist in the routing of vehicles to and from the site.
  • Follow work schedule issued by management and be ready for work at the time directed
  • Answer the telephone in a courteous and helpful manner
  • Maintain good customer and public relations
  • Act as a first point of contact for site visitors
  • Weigh, Input and Print weigh tickets for all weight values for products entering and leaving the quarry on the computer system
  • Maintain Duty of Care records
  • Ensure that all vehicles comply with the weights and measures regulations and sheeting rules
  • Assist the site manager to produce a daily distribution sheet and weekly analysis report for the head office
  • Organise logistically dispatching of vehicles
  • Accept verbal/ written /emailed orders and or waste orders and transfer to the distribution sheet
  • Instruct HGV vehicles whether our own or hired or third-party vehicles, as to the type of material to load or to tip and where on the site to load or tip and where to deliver products.
  • Work out the transport requirements for the following working day and inform the site manager / transport office

Skills and Relevant Experience

  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong word processing and excel skills
  • Full training to be provided on the job
  • Experience within Bridgemont desired but not essential
