Bishop Middleham Quarry’s Plant Operator, George Roxby, is retiring after an incredible 44 years of service with the company.
George joined Thompsons in 1977 when Bishop Middleham Quarry first opened. Over the years he has driven a number of machines including Excavators, loading shovels and dump trucks and witnessed our quarry operation grow.
Bishop Middleham Quarry manager Nicky Joscelyne said “George has always been a very easy-going person to work with, nothing was a bother, I don’t know of anybody with a bad word to say about him. It has always been a pleasure to work with him. George has decided to hang up his excavator keys at the age of 67.”
George was a big part of the team at Bishop Middleham Quarry. He will be missed by everyone and we would all like to wish George all the very best for a long and happy retirement as well as a massive thank you for your loyal service.
Congratulations on your retirement.
