Bid & Business Development Manager


  • Receive tender enquiries and evaluate to determine if suitable
  • Review Specification, identify requirements and relevant information contained within the tender pack to present to the senior management team.
  • Allocate responsibilities & requirements for component parts of tender return by liaising with & obtaining information from various departments.
  • Co-Ordinate and Attend site visits / meetings
  • Collate unified & professionally presented tender submissions, sometimes to tight deadlines
  • Receive and respond to post tender clarifications and queries
  • Prepare & lead with tender presentations with support form the wider team
  • Receive notification of tender results and update SMT
  • If successful – handover responsibility to the delivery team, ensuring that they are briefed with the salient points of the tender
  • If un-successful – obtain and share feedback with the team. Where necessary conduct a review to identify lessons learnt
  • Manage and oversee tender portals
  • Complete approved supplier documents / PQQ’s
  • Dependent upon experience, pricing of some work may become part of this role


  • Source New Business opportunities for all aspects of the business
  • Manage and oversee the company website and social platforms
  • Manage company advertising and merchandise
  • Attend occasional business conferences
  • Write press releases and deal with the media when required
  • Produce company case studies
  • Liase with photographers and media partners to obtain digital footage of projects
  • Develop and evolve the Thompsons of Prudhoe Brand
  • Receive Marketing intelligence and tender opportunity reports, identify and contact potential clients
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, such as technology and updated legislation
  • Develop an in depth understanding of all company activities
  • Give presentations to current and Prospective clients.

Skills and Relevant Experience

  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in Bid Management in construction, nuclear, decommissioning, and renewable energy settings
  • Technical background in demolition would be high advantageous
